Maybe I should try this magical Ezbend rope. Is 9mm what everyone likes?

DON'T DO IT GREENLUCK!!!

Danger, Will Robinson! Be forewarned that Ron is an evil agent of Consumerism, sent here among us to encourage us to constantly buy new stuff, and never be satisfied with what we have! Earlier, he told us to buy 10mm Sterling HTP, and we did; now that the HTPs are barely broken in, he tells us to buy 9mm EzBend! If you buy the EzBend, the novelty will have hardly worn off, and he will be exhorting us to buy the new 8.5mm MiracleBraid with the techneema core! Resist, I say, resist! And don't ever look him in the eyes!

Post Re: Rope shopping
Well spoken, Brad! Listen well, Greenluck! :D

Ron is an agent working in collusion with all of the equipment and rope manufacturers. I have been a victim of this man's evil ways. First, he tricked me into buying a Trango Cinch, pointing out that it just had to be better than a Grigri. Then he told me that instead of the Grigri, and the cinch, that I needed an Eddy. But then he pointed out that the Cinch, the Grigri, and the Eddy were all three inferior to the Rig and that I needed the Rig. The man is absolutely EVIL!!!! It took a G.A. (Gear-a-holics Anonymous) meeting and the support of all who were there to keep me from buying most of this other stuff. Now he has implied that I absolutely must have one of those Scarab descending devices. This may call for another trip to the G.A. meetings.

I too have been a victim of the HTP rope scam perpetrated by this man. My HTP isn't even dirty yet and already the pressure is on as I am now in the midst of the 9mm EZBend craze, also a product of this man's cunning. My new 9mm EZBend arrived in the mail yesterday and I pray that I will have the chance to use it before Ron points out that it is already obsolete and that there is some other rope that I need instead.

Exercise caution, Greenluck, and don't ever say that you weren't forewarned!

Now...having said all of that...I think I'm really gonna like this 9mm stuff and I think that you too should get some. Brad...I think you need some too. Help me out Ron, these people need help!

Just picking on you, Ron! :D By the way...when are you gonna share some of that kickback money with the rest of us? How much does ON ROPE 1 and PMI pay you anyway? :P

 Hee, hee...another one bites the dust

Hey wait a minute - it's not me that's trying to convince everyone they need a 50 lbs of 3/4", 10,000 MBS, lifeless rope to climb a tree. Now I can see the evil in that! :P . I mean we're just raising our weight, it's not like we're trying to pull the tree down to us!!!

Uh huh, somebody will be singing a different tune after he gets a few climbs in on his new 9mm EzBend. :P And, it's black at that; how could that not be about the coolest rope on the planet 8) !

Hee, hee, wait until he does an SRT rappel on it using a Grigri. And I ain't buying your pants were wet like that before you rappelled.

Boy, don't I wish I got some kickback!!!! I could buy more gear and rope!!!

Post Re: Rope shopping
due to an insanely good deal on some solid black 9mm ezbend, I have fallen victim to the craze. I stayed away as long as possible but was given an offer on 200 meters of it that I couln't refuse. With 200 meters I will now be stuck in the 9mm ezbend camp for a long time. I really hope it lives up to its praise.
More to come when it gets here.

What is everyone using for ascenders/descenders on theirs?

I have used it for my lanyards but never really climbed on it... I'm excited
