Post Hall of Fame
Hello climbers !

We are working to build a hall of fame in our forum as we need to know where we come from. History and heroes that made it are necessary on scene to popularise leasure tree climbing. Of course i've read your who's who but i'm not well educated enough to know who's most important, who bringed important changes.
The only one i know is Peter Treeman Jenkins.

Could you please help us to discover our "parents" and american leasure tree climbing history ?

Thanks a lot by advance !

Additional founding leaders in U.S. rec tree climbing in no particular order:

Joe Maher
Bill Maher
Abe Winters
Genevieve Summers
Dick Flowers
Tim Kovar
Elliot Su (Taiwan)
Viola Brumbaugh
Harv Teitelbaum
Sophia Sparks (New Tribe principal)
Dan House
Patrick Dimmer (early innovator in accessible tree climbing for physically impaired climbers)

The TCC "Who's Who" page that you looked at has more info on the folks in the list above.

I'm sure I've missed a few, the above list is a good start on the rec tree climbing founders and next generation founders anyway.

Other notables who've influenced rec climbers:
Richard Preston (The Wild Trees author)
Dr. Steve Sillett (PNW tall tree researcher)
Marie Antoine (PNW tall tree researcher)
Michael Taylor (PNW tall tree explorer)
Dr. Meg Lowman (tropical canopy researcher)
Many more notables I'm sure, these are folks who've inspired me and many others

Thank you so much AJ for taking on your time to answer and giving me so much names. I'll search around to find more informations.
It's a great starting point.

If some of you guys think there are important personalities missing or if you have important (but only true of course) informations about them I'd be glad to be awared about it.

Even little funny things like Peter Jenkin's black widow called Misty ^^
