Re: Help me design my Lanyard
Must be a weird angle in the pic, hard to see the pulley. I have one micropulley that I'm ready to try on the main climbing line. I'll probably order another one for the lanyard when I order that equipment. Maybe another 1-2 weeks.

Re: Help me design my Lanyard
Is there a specific reason or use for that thimble at the tail end of the rope?

Re: Help me design my Lanyard
The thimble was something I had laying around so I decided to incorporate it into the lanyard. It doesn't do anything special other than allowing me to remove the caribiner without having to untie or loosen a knot. It also helps me to quickly spot which end I need or don't need and acts as a stopper knot in a DRT setup. I can't speculate if the thimble will stay or not.
The thimble is actually for 1/2" rope but it seems to work fine with the 9mm.
The best part about this lanyard is the ultra light weight, and has very little bulk when daisy chained. This is the main reason I ditched my Bandit lanyard in favor of one made of 9mm ezbend.
I originally learned using a 2in1 style lanyard, this design allows me to digress to a 2in1 lanyard in trees that have close limbs. It only takes seconds to set up the lanyard for SRT or DRT also.

Re: Help me design my Lanyard
Nice job on the lanyard. I can't use a spliced eye or "permanent" thimble on my lanyard, there are enough times when I'm down pitching or backing out of a limb walk where anything on the end of the lanyard will hang up when I'm taking the lanyard out remotely. It's happened enough that I want the option to take the biner off and untie the knot for a clean rope end. -AJ
