 Two reasons not to climb

Post Two reasons not to climb
Ok, ok, now that the weather is warming up I've started climbing hardwoods again. Nevertheless I'm still compelled to locate and climb tall white pines.

Here's one that I applied the Jim K "Find a reason not to climb" policy to. Maybe someday. The damn thing is all trunk with a skimpy little crown leaning way out to one side at the top. It will be an adventure if I try:

Here's another near the first, again opted not to climb. The crown on this one is ridiculous, one massive side limb/reiteration, the rest sketchy:

I did find one to climb. In the photo straddling two leaders about 8 feet from the top of a 130 footer:

Very Nice! 130' does not come easy down here in the hurricane / lightning belt.

I love climbing pines too Moss. Sure wish I could find a real tall one near home.
