 Twenty-ten
I have just this moment received a message from Shelly Byrne, up in Kentucky, announcing that the 2010 Rendezvous will be hosted at their place and the dates will be 14th-18th October 2010. Put those dates down in your calendar. Now!
We will add details as they come in. For now, we only have the dates.

ALRIGHT!!!! I am positive that the Byrnes are going to do just as good as Bob Wray. I am also positive, that they are completely capable handling the event and can't wait to see them!

You can count me in, too!
I'll be willing to lead a few workshops:
1. Advanced climbing techniques
- Let me know if you'd like to bring your favorite method and explain it. I'll teach and have available to try multiple eye-to-eye hitch, F8, double line rope walker, and others systems.
2. Emergent care for tree-related injuries
- Basics of tree emergency care dos and don'ts; be prepared
3. Death,dying, bereavement, and loss
- 7 years of hospice nursing and a life of loss and joy bring a balance to the discussion
4. How to make your own tree hammock
- patterns and procedures and a list of suppliers will be available and a sample from Canopy Comfort Sleep Platform Kits, Inc. (patent pending)
also looking at the possibility of a group tree-sing if there is interest and voices.
Let me know if you want to help out with any of them.

OK, People!
Back off that date announcement! Now I have a message from Shelly saying that a new venue has been found and that maybe the Rendezvous will have a different date.
I will update as I receive more information.

UPDATE!
Now, this morning I have another message from Shelly. the original date stands. October 14-18!
Kentucky is south of the "grits line", therefore grits will be available. I don't know whether it will be gourmet grits served by Alice, but there WILL be grits! For those unenlightened souls who don't like grits, I'm sure that Colonel Sanders will be somewhere in the vicinity to take care of your hunger issues!

I googled grits.... some kind of porridge mash thing? I assume the line is a boundary of where the particular corn stops growing?
Looks delicious

 October 2010..!
As a treetruck-drivin' man, I'm hoping that in October 2010, my " twenty" will be in a tent in the treeclimbing venue of choice in the fine State of Kentucky. Let's hope that the year 2010 popularizes a meal comprised of twenty ounces of grits and ten ounces of WH coffee (8oz mug and a 2oz warm-up).
Anyway, count me in, too..
[MartyTree] Great grits graphic..
Wait, how about sweet potato pancakes..

Grits are okay cause they're corn (good for those of us unable to eat wheat)
We will again feed the masses: there will be rice flour raspberry
or blueberry pancakes on the last morning just like at the 'vous this year.
And we'll advertise them better, so more folks will know to come by and enjoy them
...so bring a plate and a fork and be ready to chow down.
BTW, Does anyone know what the camping situation will be like there at AJ Jolly?

I haven't been authorized to release the details, but I do know that the great Alice Lou Cornshucker -- Our Ouarter-Ton Patron Goddess of Adventure, Research and Educational Tree Climbers Everywhere -- has twenty-ten on her calendar and plans to put in at least a brief appearance in north Kentucky.
"I shore would like to be there for the whole thang," Herselfness stated, "but I'm a delicate young southern flower an' I gotta get back home to Hockalugie for my beauty rest. So I'll prob'ly just stay for an hour or two...!"
So, how will we spot this lovely lady? The best tip is to look for something that resembles skin-tight Arborwear pants made of hot pink spandex, spread across the rump of a waltzing African hippo that's toting a huge pot of steamin' hot, buttered grits d'bourbon (Alice drinks the bourbon and then cooks the grits; works every time...).
