Post Grits Gaunlet is thrown over the line...
Now hold on thar'! I've enjoyed genuine grits, swimming in creamery butter, in the Florida Keys, Caloosa Cove, to be specific, and in the backwoods of New Jersey. So that venerable map in the thread above must evolve in recognition of the pioneering spirit of granular maize in all its variant forms, winning the hearts of discerning palettes everywhere.

In fact, up here in northern NJ we sling grits even when its not a special occasion. Recently, I enjoyed Grits & Feed (hominy and pecan granola) and I think I'll add real Maple syrup to that, or cheddar, tomorrow morning...

Oh, no! Wiki-piddy says, "...it is also common for people from above the Mason-Dixon Line to have sugar with their grits."

So? Does it sound like I'm just a northerly early AM grits whiffer? No, I say!

I'll go so far as to say that, in an effort to extend my personnel treeclimbing season, I'm gonna get grits-centric in my next attempt at recording a treeclimbing video. The star of the show will be the host tree, of course, but supporting roles by the supercat stove and a pan of piping hot grits will leave you tantalized, awaiting the corny sequel. Yes, I mean to accomplish grits preparation, cooked at the highest latitude AND on the highest vertically hiked out supercat stove in recorded history. [Hmmm...I didn't Google this yet...has anyone already stolen my thunder already...I better check...]

Stay tuned...
