Post New Saddle - New Tribe - Yellow Jacket
We completed a climb-in at Bob Wray's the weekend of 15-Apr-11. My write-up will soon post in the articles section of this website. Here's the paragraph written about New Tribe's Yellow Jacket....
New Tribe provided an early prototype release of their Yellow Jacket saddle. Based on the experience of the climbers present, this will be a hot saddle to own. The Blue Ridge climbers are lined up to purchase theirs. Here’s the key point: even Bob Wray liked it. Without releasing details on it’s construction, the Yellow Jacket is lighter, more flexible and highly compactible for stowage. Though it will entice the minimalistic climber, the Blue Ridge climbers enjoyed the easy flex-fit. Watch New Tribe’s website: the Yellow Jacket will be released commercially very soon.

Jim, does the yellowjacket have rib-riding tendencies?

emr...not to be coy, I wasn't climbing with a camera...we'll dig up a photo though...

Duane...one of the common remarks was that it didn't dig on the ribs...

Jim,
Please hurry with your report on the Spring Blue Ridge Parkway Climb In!! I was really disappointed that I could not attend this year and am most anxious to hear your report. I trust that everyone had another great time at Bob's incredible woods. Don't leave anything out! I look forward to your article.

That is very promising. This looks like the mind and hands of New Tribe's Casey at work. I want mine in camo!

I vote for either cammo, black, or the regular New Tribe green. I don´t like that yellow look, even if they are going o call it the Yellowjacket. Make it green and call it the Green Hornet.

looks interesteing! i agree with others about the color, since this saddle seems geared toward the Rec-climber I would think a less visable color would be desirable.

I have to say I really like the direction New Tribe is taking with their new and updated saddles!

I really like what I am seeing. So much that I plan to order one immediately.

I have personally seen Ron color and entire burgundy backpack black with Sharpie markers, so I am not worried about the color. I have started threads on my disdain for bright colors before so I won't get into that again.

The saddle is a very refreshing breath of air after seeing that Monstrosity of a floating bridge saddle they came up with.

I am also very hopefully that this new saddle will be cooler to wear down in the Florida heat.

I believe I have convinced myself that it will be OK for me to buy more gear!

The leg pads with triple cross webbing looks like overkill to me but then again I'm sure they had a reason to use that material!
