Just checking, are you hanging the Yo-yo redirect pulley from the top of the ascender? If not try that to add more length to your stroke.

Joe and I have been waiting patiently for ages for those twisted screwlinks to become available in North America. I'm glad to hear that OnRope1 can get them in bulk, because earlier they couldn't get them at all! Maybe if enough people expressed an interest in getting one, it could be done?

I will give them a call or send a message on Monday and see if I can resurrect the request for the things.

Seems like we have a bit of interest here. I should think that a good metal worker in a well furnished shop could take an ordinary Maillon Rapide and put a twist in it. Maybe?

That's a hint, by the way. I wouldn't want SwampFox to get there first, ya know!

Seriously, though, there are two problems I see with twisting a regular Maillon Rapide:

1) it is more deformation on a life-safety item than I would like to take responsibility for, and,

2) it would would take more than skill (ie. luck, magic, divine intervention, etc.) to keep the threads spinning freely throughout the process.

Also, now that I think of it, a regular screwlink would likely be shortened too much by the process, and the threaded sleeve might not be moveable at all...............maybe a long-style oval Maillon Rapide could be made to work, but I don't know if I'd want to trust my life to it after!

Brad----You have a point! I totally agree, now that I think of it! But....my whole idea was that you would test it yourself before giving it to the rest of us.....
