Island climbing and hiking
Every year, in late autumn, the Army Corps of Engineers lets the water level in Lake Lanier go down. When it goes down it is possible to hike out to islands that we would normally need a boat to get to. Today, we were able to go out to "Lonnie's Island" and do a bit of hiking exploring and climbing.
Glenn Fell showed up at the farm early...looking for a free breakfast of course... and then he, WildBill and I headed out for the island. Three trees climbed, a mile or so hiked, and we got lost along the way. It took yours truly to get everybody out of the woods and onward to the best tree, which turned out to be the wrong tree. Never mind!
