Post Re: New Saddle - New Tribe - Yellow Jacket
Dan,

I have the Tengu in addition to the Yellow Jacket. Actually, I have all of the major lines of saddles offered by New Tribe. When I climb, I don't think about the saddle that I'm wearing. The Yellow Jacket blended in rather quick for me - in a good sense. Thus my saddles have situational roles. "Work" calls for floating bridge. Hiking calls for the Yellow Jacket.

I have found that the comfort factor ranks higher for the new climber.

So the Yellow Jacket has been out for a while now, how are users feeling about it? I have recently had a back injury and am looking for something a bit more ergonomic then the tengu (it tends to ride high sometimes) are people finding the yellow jacket to stay put on the lower back? over all opinions of the harness?

Thanks everyone!

I have been climbing since September and have only ever used the yellow jacket, but I'm very happy with it. It's very comfortable even when climbing for more than 3 hours at a time. It has 4 spaces to clip on accessory biners in addition to the side D's. It does tend to make my shirt ride up giving me a cold mid section if it's cold out, but it has never hurt my ribs. I think it stays well below my ribs actually. I'm 5' 8" and 160 pounds and I opted for the medium size. It is a little snug pulling it on, but once in place it is a great fit. The legs are plenty roomy and super comfortable and it is easy to adjust where the leg pads are positioned on the back of your thighs even when suspended in the harness. I'd recommend the yellow jacket for sure.
