Post Ridley Pearson (somewhat famous author) is a tree climber
Took my kids to an author talk /signing this week - Ridley Pearson (writes adult thrillers, a popular oung adult series, and co-wrote a popular kids book series w Dave Barry).

If you don't know who he is, just ignore.

He mentioned being a recreational tree climber. And told stories about getting Dave Barry, who is afraid of heights, 80 feet off the ground ...

He had a wacky upbeat personality. Reminded me of some local tree climbers - he'd fit in :)

A few years back I read a Dave Barry column where he described being facilitated on a climb. He said something about how the NT harness felt like (or made him look like) he was wearing a big green diaper. I guess it was Pearson who facilitated the climb.

How ironic, I just recently read this article. My mom loves Dave Barry, and she gave me this article due to my interest in tree climbing. Pretty funny stuff..

I hadn't seen that column, pretty funny, Pearson sounds like a great climber to hang out with.

My apologize, the previous link I sent was not the one to the story about tree climbing, though it did mention it. Here is the full story that I had read previously..
